Release on own recognizance—Questions checklist
The checklist that follows demonstrates the types of questions, which are considered in a jurisdiction's decisions about own recognizance (O.R.) release. As the checklist indicates, the questions asked by the O.R. investigator are generally not different from those that a court would consider in determining the amount of bail.

- Previous residence
- Residence to return to after incarceration Employment Record
- Length of time
- Type of employment
- By whom employed Criminal record
- Arrests between year of first and year of last arrest
- List of convictions
In addition, representatives of the police, probation, parole, and district attorney's office may offer comments about whether or not they oppose O-R release.
