Encrypt all passwords during transmission and storage, on all system components.


PCI-8.4 A: For selected system components in the cardholder environment, examine password files to verify that passwords are unreadable. Include password files for all system components.


PCI-8.4 B: For Service Providers only, observe password files to verify that customer passwords are encrypted.
